Luxembourg, Dracula-Show Romania and Rostock/GER

We are in September and that means that the 2nd Show season has started. Lots of interesting Shows are coming and for us until 13th of October High Season. Luxembourg stood on the Calendar and here the judge was a Hungarian, until today for me a complete stranger: Mrs. J. Balazsovits. She breeds Collies and I was very curious. Our “Schoko”had been entered by me in the Intermediate Class, in the hope to gain a CAC and maybe even a first CACIB. As known I do not like to go to a show with only one dog. So, “Strike” the 8 months old en perfect looking Bearded Collie Male, who will depart in 10 days to his new owners in Australia, had no choice and he had to come along. He is looking so good and I wanted to know how he behaves on a Show. Every Monday evening we had been practicing very hard at the ringcraftclass in Echt/NL. First Mrs. Balazstovits had to judge two other breeds amongst which the OES and here, according to my opinion, she did very well. BUT: with the judging of the Bearded Collies, I could not find myself in her decisions. Some very doubtful decisions where taken. For instance, the Res-World Champion, the 23 months old Ch. Firstprizebears Kim Karnes, stood alone in the Champion Class and  received her first and  hopefully last “Very Good”. All other dogs became an “Excellent”. This was very frustrating and Fernando and Sergio where more than dissapointed. Our “Firstprizebears Lucky Strike” was alone in the Puppy Class, even as Mrs. Kuhn’s bitch “Firstprizebears Millwaukee“. Both received a Very Promising and went on to the Big Ring. “Strike” became Best of Group 1 in the Big Ring, where Mr. Kavcic from Slovenia judged. Our “Schoko” (Firstprizebears Liz Taylor) had been entered in a very strong represented Intermediate Class and became 2nd. Chris Beirendonk joined me this day and we had a very pleasant day. Satisfied with “Strike”, who had behaved himself perfectly.

“Strike’s” litter brother “Firstprizebears Levi Strauss“, had joined his owner, the Hungarian Makoi, on a trip to Romania. Here, during 2 days the “Dracula-Show” was held in Targu Mures. During these two days, “Levi” became Best Puppy and on the second day, even as his brother in Luxembourg Best of Group 1.

In Rostock/Germany, the Vanbossche family was present with their dogs. Mrs. Vanbossche stood in the Bobtail ring, when the Bearded Collies where judged by Mrs. Scheel from Danmark. Here, Mr. Vanbossche had to enter the ring with “Ole” and “Tobi”. Whether it was the showing or the judging? But both received the worst results they had ever scored. “Ole” (Firstprizebears Lucky Luke) received a “Very Promising2” and “Tobi” (Firstprizebears King Cole), in the Intermediate Class an Excellent 4. Anyway, Mrs. Vanbossche did better with “Floh”, the OES and became Best of  Breed.
