Springshow in Luxemburg

There are some shows with a lot of tradition. The 2 CACIB’s show’s in Luxembourg have a VERY long tradition. In the spring of 1975 I exhibited “Orplids Andrella” there for the first time. At that time, the exhibition halls were still in the city center. For many many years, the Dog Mecca has been in Luxembourg on the Kirchberg. For many years, a hardcore of exhibitors have formed an integral part there. 3500 to 5000 dogs in 2 days. This year, new car parks are being built and there were problems with the exhibitors parking their cars. Some people needed 1.5 hours to park and get in the hall and the stress levels were very high.
The Bearded Collie exhibitors had no stress. There was a change of judges and the judging didn’t begin until noon. Ms Nölke had the flu and so the Luxembourg-based Guy Kips had to jump in. This was very good for the 3 registered Firstprizebear males. My dear friend Monika Fuss, who had been brushing her “Pike” since about 8 in the morning, had 6 competitors in the youth class and was very nervous. Nevertheless, everything was good, “Pike” was great and showed his beautiful walk. This was also recognised by Mr. Kips and “Firstprizebears Pikes Peak” was 1st in the youth class with the title Luxembourg Junior Champion. Unfortunately, Mrs. Van Bossche had registered her “Multi Ch. Firstprizebears King Cole” in the Open Class. He actually belongs to the champion class. So he got in the way of the wonderful “Firstprizebears Orlando Bloom“. Both dogs could have been the Champion of Luxembourg that day, but there is only 1 CAC per class and that’s what “King Cole” won and Deborah Raquet with “Orlando Bloom” won Res-Best Male. It was a pity, although it was really great, that all 3 males have won the maximum.
