Joe Kat Show Arnhem/NL and Neumünster/GER

Every two years, the Kynological Club Arnhem organizes a show for the Pastoral Group (read FCI Group 1), on their own magnificent show ground. In the programme, it could be read that the Beardies would be judged in Ring 6, starting at approximately 11.00 hrs. The smart Shower visits, in this era of the internet, the homepage of the Organization and would have found that 22 Aussies where judged before the Beardies. That meant that the judging would not start before 12.30. It was 13.30, raining all day and cold. The App of the weather forecast indicated  that, in the afternoon the weather would become dryer. I have removed this app from my phone. Mrs. R. Dijkhorst-de Nooij had to judge the 25 entered Beardies of which 4 where Firstprizebears. The Vanbossche family had come over from Germany with Tobi and Ole. Peggy had entered Jazz and I had June and Prada in my luggage. For me it was exciting. Jazz and Prada both needed a victory in the Youth Class for the Title of Netherlands Youth Champion and “June” owned by Inge Schreurs needed a Res-CAC for the Netherlands Champion Title. “Ole” Vanbossche, “Firstprizebears Lucky Luke” and Peggy Jeurissen with “Firstprizebears Letterman“, where in the Youth Class together with 4 other contestors. Lucky Luke won and Letterman became 3rd. Lucky Luke became Res-Best Male and received a full CAC. “Tobi” Firstprizebears King Cole, thought the smells on the grass where more interesting and ran like through the ring a tracker. He became 3rd in the Open Class Males. “Prada” Firstprizebears Meryl Streep was together with 5 other dogs in the Youth Class. she showed herself from her best side and the judge was touched by her appearance. She won the Youth Class and received the Netherlands Youth Champion Title. After this I had to enter the ring again and in a well occupied Open Class Bitches, where 6 dogs. “June” Firstprizebears Jade Jagger” is in her full beauty with her 3,5 years of age and won the Open Class. Peggy Jeurissen was so kind to show “Prada” for the CAC (in the Netherlands, this is highest you can achieve, also out of the Youth Class. There is only 1 CAC per gender). I myself showed June. We had to run and Peggy won with Prada, Best Bitch. Another round of running and “June” became Res-CAC is is now officially a Netherlands Champion. I was simply a happy person and with me Ingrid Schreurs, the owner of June.

Something that should not remain unmantioned, is the fact thet Ethel Somer (Dazzystars A Groovy Kind of Love & Boogie Chillen) and Jolande Postma (Eyecatchingbears Angel Eyes), where also successful at this show with their own bred Firstprizebear descendants (offspring).

Firstprizebears Jade Jagger is the 94th Firstprizebear Champion. She is the 6th dogs from this litter, becoming Champion, something very special. Should the people (owners) in France of Firstprizebears Jerry Hall and  the ones in the Netherlands, who own Firstprizebears Jane Fonda, had not decided to place their dogs in anynomity, I am for 200% convinced that they also would have become Champions. Anyway, it is the combination from Multi Champion Firstprizebears Enfield with Multi Ch. Firstprizebears Donna Summer, of which these beautiful dogs have came out of. Further details with regards to the special Breed and Show Dogs, can be found on their own personal pages within these homepages.

Unfortunately we do not have any usable pictures of Ole and Tobi.

But of Peggy Jeurissen and “Firstprizebears Letterman”, a son of Donna Summer and Lasse, 16 months old.

A special thanks to Petra Bonny and Anette Oostervink for the pictures.

Mrs. Hellwig was successful with her “Spike” Ch. Firstprizebears Delware, at the Int-Show of Neumünster/GER. “Strike” has the proud age of 10 years and won in Neumünster his 3rd Senior CAC and now is officialy a German Veteran Champion. In the Big Ring, he became 2nd Best Of the Day, out of 25 present Veterans Of All Breeds. The judge was mr. Zidar. Mrs. Hellwig was more than happy with the outcome of Spike and we are proud that even our older dogs are still looking that good.
